Agreement with Polish Railway Lines ( PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe)

After two months of the project, the Fotoraports company can be proud of the implementation of photogrammetric studies for selected railway lines with a total length of 415 kilometers. Thanks to high-resolution orthophotomoms, generated on the basis of photogrammetric photogrammetry, it is possible to report on the progress of construction works, including newly laid railway sleepers, built supports and suspended traction cables. Drones allow to view the construction site in advance, which gives a wider perspective of the terrain and allows for better security of the investments – eg whether the area is properly secured by the contractor and whether its employees apply safety procedures and health and safety rules. Importantly, PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe S.A also have a view of the routes on which not only passenger and freight trains run, but also technical vehicles, transporting materials and equipment in and out. Such monitoring of the construction site in the case of irregularities will allow rapid reactions from PLK and contractors. These are important activities, as the railway infrastructure manager is currently implementing the largest investment program in rail infrastructure in history – the National Railway Program, which covers over 220 projects with a total value of over 66 billion PLN. This is a huge undertaking and challenge for the Company, which in addition to the implementation of the investment is responsible for the daily efficient and safe passage of thousands of passenger and freight trains. The goal of PLK is to make the investment run smoothly, hence the Company invests in the use of modern technologies and implements special solutions, including the use of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) to monitor the implementation of investment tasks.



The Fotoraporty company provides photogrammetric products along with thematic vector layers through a dedicated application, accessible from the level of the web browser and mobile devices. The developed orthophotomaps, reports on the progress of construction works and video materials are used in everyday work by project directors (in the area of investments), contract managers and employees of the Railway Geodesy Office.

The use of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles in monitoring railway investments throughout the country makes the project a precursory and unique in the whole of Europe.
